The fact that the US President has decided to fly 9000 miles to visit the Marianas is HUGE news&#8230; and speaks to how vital these tiny islands are to America&#8217;s global strategy.<\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_QV59577u-Vg\/S2cW63TESCI\/AAAAAAAAAGs\/-nyi1Qt5pLA\/s1600-h\/TokyoProtest2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_QV59577u-Vg\/S2cW63TESCI\/AAAAAAAAAGs\/-nyi1Qt5pLA\/s320\/TokyoProtest2.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>On the same day, the Associate Press reported <a href=\"http:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/s\/ap\/20100130\/ap_on_re_as\/as_japan_us_military\">this story<\/a> about thousands of protestors in Tokyo (not Okinawa &#8211; Tokyo), asking the US military to GO HOME.<\/p>\n<p>Something tells me these two things are related.<\/p>\n<p>The real question now is: how do we get Obama to watch <em>The Insular Empire<\/em>? I&#8217;ve read Obama&#8217;s book <em>Dreams From My Father<\/em>, and I really believe that Obama understands, first-hand, what it means to be colonized.
